Clouds in the air, the snow on the ground
a creepy silence is here all around
Under the moon, up in the sky
Mighty mountains standing so high
Snow falling down, drifted by wind
I can feel the cold on my skin
Up from the depths of the blackened skies
Reflecting the light of pale stars up high
Through the woods, beyond the ice
Hundreds old trees in a winter night
Glorious days of death, blood and steel
Now they are gone, as the snow does in spring
Here was the throne, made of ice and stones
Of an ancient king, buried alone
A bloodthirsty tyrant ruled these lands
His enemies’ blood used to stain his hands
In the blowing wind you can still hear
The clashing of swords and broken shields
The bloodstained snow, that once was red
Lying under the feet of many thousands men
In the mountains’ shadow were hundred wars
Men against men, died in the snow
Much of what was this kingdom is lost
For everything now here is stones and frost
The morning comes with a biting cold
There is no sun behind the clouds
Up in the sky, two ravens fly over me
Watching over lakes, woods and fields
To northern lands, I keep up my ride
beyond the high mountainsides
I ride to the edge from a faraway land
From which I will come home again

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ

Exquisite harmonies resonate profoundly! Such a resounding melody, finely woven. The shadows intricately entwine with the mellifluous riffs, crafting a sublime symphony of darkness and bliss. jayakody

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub
